Object Info
Visual Mag = 17.29. Dist: 27,000 light years. This globular has very high foreground reddening.
Even so,
this object was clearly visible live on the computer monitor in the
capture software with the contrast turned up.
The IR capability of the
GSTAR allows objects like this to be shown with relative ease.

To my way
of thinking, seeing something this faint in such a crowded star field.
even with a BIG telescope,
would be nigh-on impossible but see here UKS 1 - The Faintest Globular of
the Milky Way for a report of attempts to view this
globular visually.
BTW, there are fainter globular clusters!
