20cm stick scope
Another project I undertook with a spare 20cm f/6 mirror was a lightweight telescope
for my wife, Janet. It weighs only 11 Kilograms and can be very easily carried around.
It uses a piece of 75 X 50mm wood (the stick) as the main support beam and is
connected to a steel pipe tripod with plumbing fittings. For a finder scope I used half
of an old pair of binoculars. I have since added plastic shields around the primary
and secondary mirrors which cut out any stray light and revised the finder scope.

My wife enjoys using this scope to scan around the sky and I often get called over to identify an object she has 'discovered'.
