 15cm Telescope

15cm and 6cm telescopes

When the astrophotography bug bit, this was the first system I put together.
My first telescope, the 60mm refractor became the guidescope for a 15cm f/5.5 Newtonian reflector on a Polaris equatorial mount. I found the original wooden tripod a bit too flimsy, so a pier of 100mm diameter aluminium fixed that.

The first galaxy I ever imaged (Messier 83) with this scope, I later found out, had one of Bob Evans' supernova in it at the time.
