RCW 38 in Vela

When blending the colour print taken in 1989 with the 2007 image, I noticed a star at the centre of field had moved significantly during the 18 years between images.

Thank you to  Rob McNaught  for finding the ID of this star and supplying the following info:

Star is LHS 2085 (that's star 2085 in Luyten's proper motion catalogue)
  0.847"/yr PA 323.6 12.8R, 14.3 PhotoBlue

Revised Luyten (Bakos 2002) gives 0.70"/yr PA 327.94 12.8R, 14.3B

Tycho gives mag 11.8V

Clicking on the "Simbad" link at the end of the Bakos listing gives

Object Info

Not a well known nebula, part of the Gum nebula complex found in Puppis and Vela

* This was my first go at merging
2 images, it is made of two 15' x 12' fields with an overlap of 2', giving a 22' x 15' image.
