Remove Vignetting or amp glow
This problem typically arises if a dark frame has not been subtracted during the stacking process. OR when pushing the levels processing to the
absolute limits.
Open your image to be processed.
From the Image menu, select Duplicate (no need to alter the duplicate name generated, just click OK)
|
|
Using the Clone and/or Healing
tools, remove any bright stars or extended objects, making sure not to change the background gradient... as this is what we are trying
to remove
|
|
|
With the duplicate still the active image, from the Filter menu, go to Blur, Gaussian Blur
adjust just enough so that no lumpy bits are left

|
|
Now make the original image active and select Image, Apply Image
Make the Source... the (blurred) copy image
Make the Blending... Subtract
In the offset box try values from 10-30,
this will vary from image to image
A tip:
left click and hold the over the word Offset and move the mouse left or right to change the value
