NGC 5530 and SN 2007it in Lupus
Visual supernova discovery by Bob Evans on 13 Sep 2007 using his 41 cm f/4.5 reflector from Frog Rock Observatory location.
A visual confirmation was made by visiting amateur astronomer Darrin Nitschke in the same telescope.
I then made a confirmation image with the GSTAR-EX through my 31.5 cm f/4.5 reflector about 20 minutes later.
Position for the SN as determined from Astrometrica.
RA = 14 18 25.57 Dec = -43 22 54.0 Mag R 14.3. Has now been given V magnitude of 13.2

20070917 - RGB images added to the above image.

20080305 latest image shows the SN fading.
